3 Tips To Redesigning Your Classroom

Are you in need of a well through out redesign of your classroom?

Whether it is at the beginning of the school year or halfway through it, sometimes you need to change up the design layout of your classroom.  Redesigning your classroom can benefit how your students learn and can even improve your teaching style.  With the constant evolution of technology, sometimes it is necessary to redesign the learning environment.  There are a few simple ways to redesign your classroom so your students will be productive all year long.

Clear The Clutter

When starting to redesign your classroom, it is critical to clear all the clutter and unnecessary items from the space.  Look around your room and discard any items that are rarely used and just take up space.  Once your space is clear, you can finally focus and see how you want to layout your room.  The key is keeping your room clean and organized.

Integration of Technology

An essential way to increase productivity in your classroom is to introduce technology from laptops to smartboards.  The days of taking notes with pen and paper are over, and it’s all about transferring them to an electronic format.  Allowing your students to take and access notes on a laptop will allow your lessons to be more efficient.  Take advantage of smart boards so the class can follow your lessons right on their laptops.  Your students can see your words right in front of them, so they are visually and auditorily learning.  Make sure you have enough outlets for every student to charge their devices.

The Student is Always Right

Your students should be your reference point when redesigning your classroom because they are the ones that learn in the space every day.  You should have a brainstorming session with them and find out what about the classroom design they dislike and how to improve each aspect.  Find out how they like to learn and how a classroom design would improve their ability to learn.  Once you know what they want in a learning environment, you can design your classroom to meet their needs.
