This tip may seem simple but gets ignored. Desk items can cause clutter, and you may not even need each piece. Reevaluate the things that you use daily and give away or throw away things that you don’t use every day.

You may think that drawers are just a way to hide the mess that accumulates but think again. Drawers extending from a desk assures that your office supplies aren’t piling on top of your desk. Multiple drawers can help you sort your supplies. Relevant documents may go in one drawer while you may use another drawer for pens, staplers, and a calculator. This way, you can complete projects in peace and have the elbow room to do so.

Use Technology to Store Things

A benefit of being alive in the 21st century is technological advances. Did you know that you can store almost anything on your computer using specific programs? For example, sticky notes help you digitally keep track of your tasks. You can throw away the sticky notes that you store on your desk. You can also use excel to keep a client list versus using a notebook to jot things down.

The nature of your job depends on what kind of wallpaper is acceptable. If your workplace is casual, then maybe cat pictures on your wallpaper are fine. If you work for a legal firm. You may not want your clients or coworkers to see cat pictures.
