Ideas to Improve the Air Quality in Your Office

Office Air Quality

Bring some plants to boost your office air quality.

Offices are where most people spend a third of their waking time every week, so the conditions in the office can have a huge impact on their health and well-being. Keeping your employees comfortable can seem like a full-time job already, but there are many different simple ways to improve the air quality in your office and also improve the happiness of your employees. Here are some of our favorites!

Add Some Greenery

Plants are a great way to bring the outside indoors and make your office feel much more open and comfortable. Beyond that, desktop and office plants can dramatically improve the air quality in your office. Indoor plants do the same thing as outdoor plants in terms of removing carbon dioxide from the air and adding back in oxygen. Ivy is a beautiful office plant that is easy to maintain, and there are countless other options available at your local nursery or office store.

Clean Up, Clean Up

Cleaning up your office is a great way to instantly improve the air quality. All of the books, dust, coffee mugs, and untouched artwork (that might actually be left over from the last occupants of your space) contain a ton of dirt and grime. Clean everything off of your desk and surfaces and do a thorough dusting and cleaning. Then, make a habit of dusting and wiping down surfaces every week to keep the air quality as good as possible.

Get the Air Moving

Just like the circulation of your employees is necessary for productivity (and life), fresh air is a necessity. Whenever possible, crack the windows to allow for some fresh air. If you don’t have the option of opening up windows, get fans and air purifiers to help move the air around the office and use them a couple times a week.
