Tips for a More Productive Office

productive office

An office that is well-organized is more productive!

The right work space can do wonders for employee peace of mind, morale, and productivity. A work space that proactively enables employees to be focused and complete tasks with ease can seem complex to create, but it can actually be as easy as a few clever and simple design tweaks. Utilize these tips to make your employees happier and to create a more productive office.

Consider Ergonomics To Create A Productive Office

This one is simple. It is impossible to be happy, healthy, and productive if your back, neck, and shoulders are in pain from sitting behind an improperly adjusted computer screen or chair. Make sure that your thighs are parallel to the floor, and your upper arms are perpendicular to the floor. Your wrists should be almost straight and everything you need should be in easy reach, in order to make sure you are not damaging your body.

De-Cluttering Is Key

It is impossible to have a highly productive office without organization. Being unable to find the things you need when you need them adds stress and forces employees to waste valuable time hunting for them. Scanning documents can lead to a more paperless desk and work space. Keep everything, including computer folders, obviously labeled and well organized. Stick to a pattern when it comes to labeling and organizing, so everything is simple to find. If you decide to go paperless, make sure to back up all of your files.

Color Can Create A More Productive Office

The Color Affects System, created by leading color psychologist Angela Wright, shows that while different people prefer different colors, colors influence people universally. Blue stimulates the mind, yellow inspires creativity, and green is calming. According to Wright’s Theory, color saturation can be even more important than the actual hue. Highly saturated and bright colors stimulate and softer colors have a soothing effect. If you cannot change the color of your whole entire office, it may be practical choose accents in strategic colors. This will ensure that different teams of people, depending on the work they do, will be surrounded by the colors that will most benefit their work.
